I can't wait until Sew It Together 2012, and next year it won't be in Sydney so I am looking forward to a 3 day adventure attending all the events rather than just the one that I squeezed in today!
I didn't take any happy snaps so I am looking forward to seeing some of the pics that were taken.
Here is my very cute badge, made by the lovely Leah
We were all given a goody bag on arrival - the contents of which are sensational!
I was lucky enough to be drawn out of the envelope in the first prize draw. We were able to choose from so many wonderful prizes...it was tough but these were my choices (links to be inserted)
At midday we all stopped what we were doing, got into groups of five, did crazy little dances and had a fab swap. Due to machine breakage, I owe 3 swap partners...which will be sent out late next week. I was so lucky to receive the following items from 5 very creative and lovely ladies; (links to be inserted) A huge thank you to the most gorgeous Juddie (link to be added) who saved me on the day with offering up a few gorgeous bags and fabric covered notebooks so I could save face!!!
And to my financial detriment (but feel good gain) here are my purchases....
After the day (sadly) ended, I headed across the road to Max Brenner with Esther, Kirsty and Alissa for a yummy mint hot chocolate. I would have loved to sit and chat with these beautiful ladies for a lot longer, but I had to vote and they had to catch a plane back to Melbourne.
Afte today, I feel all sew jo'ed again and am determined to get on with it...although it will be by hand for a while as my sewing machine went kaput on Thursday night when I was trying to get my swap items finished! I am going to schedule it into my time management schedule, just like I do with exercise and I am going to take the same attitude to crafting as I do to my exercise - JFDI!! It is so good for my sense of well being!!!!!!!!!!!
To do list (yep it is another one, but totally realistic this time)
1. Hand sew final 3 swaps and post
2. Finish Jack's quilt - hand quilting and binding (will have to beg, borrow and steal a machine for the binding)
3. Pies and Tarts - just keep plodding along!
And maybe throw a few hexi's in there to mix it up and keep it interesting as I did a Material Obsession workshop today on hand piecing and bought some hexi templates.....
When my machine is fixed....hopefully replaced with a new fangdangle one...
1. Finish Mai and Mick's quilt
2. Abby's Quilt
Well there you have it, I have what feels like a million WIP's or things in my head to make but I am going to keep it simple and achievable for now...Life is too hectic for anything else!
For now, I am going to have shower, stick on a girly movie and get on to that hand quilting of my little nephew Jack's quilt, all that after Earth Hour!

It looks like I purchased a lot of the same goodies as you did.
What a great day wasn't it! Love the block you got made. I'm really looking forward to the next one, especially as I'll know more people now - and it will probably mean a 3 day weekend!
