About Me

Sydney, Australia
I am a stay at home mum to 2 princesses, wife to a gorgeous Irishman and proud owner of an adorable long haired German Shepherd. I would craft and read the days away if the responsibilities of life did not get in the way! In the mean time I take time, as time allows, to indulge in the things I love!

Glorious Books...

This year, again I took the challenge to get to 50 books in 2010. I did better than last year (I think it was the grand total of 39 books in '09) and reached 44 books.

Many types of books, many memorable and a couple to forget! I always have to finish a book though no matter what it is like. I love to read. I could easily cuddle up in bed, or flop on the sofa and spend the entire day lost in a good book. However my wonderful life gets in the way of this pipe dream and I snatch time here and there when I can.

A few of my favourites this year;

The Five people You Meet in Heaven - Mitch Albom

Fall of Giants - Ken Follett

The Alchemist - Paul Coelho

The Memory Keepers Daughter - Kim Edwards

My all out favourite, without a doubt was Miracle in the Andes - Nando Parrado with Vince Rause. I did a post on it here

Well done Kayscha :) I hit 50 this year, however most of them were vampire / elm creeks quilts (ie smaller reads) LOL
im in again next year, but wont be pushing myself so hrd, I sort of started to lose the enjoyment of snuggling up with a good book this year!

well done Kayscha. Reading is good for the soul. My reading has been horribly neglected in the last year. I might print your list and order a few of them from the library.

Love your list. Have read quite a few, but think I will be referring back to this list when I am looking for a new book. I read your post on Ken Follett's new book & so made sure I had it on my Christmas wish list.

And if you don't mind, I will still the 50 books in a year for myself - nice to be able to keep track of what I have been reading this year.
