About Me

I am a stay at home mum to 2 princesses, wife to a gorgeous Irishman and proud owner of an adorable long haired German Shepherd. I would craft and read the days away if the responsibilities of life did not get in the way! In the mean time I take time, as time allows, to indulge in the things I love!

Moving Right Along....

Onto my Mum's 60th birthday quilt. I have until the 3rd week of June, so "should" be ok with this one!

I am going to use these 2 blocks in the quilt - the centre will remain the same with each border changing within this pattern. I will then frame it with Michael Millers Fairy Frost in khaki, a butterflyy border and the binding in the Fairy Frost. I am even going to give FMQ a whirl on it! Don't you think the butterfly fabric is just divine?

Better get back to cutting whilst I still have time, before I have to leave to do pickups and park plays!

That si beautiful, and I love your plan for the rest of the quilt. Do you hand-sew your bindings down? If so, I suggest you have a try at handstitching the fairy frosts before you commit - I have done it on small quilts, but it's definitely a lot more work getting the needle through ffs than other fabrics - and you don't want to change your mind half-way around a big quilt! I'm looking forward to seeing more of this one.

Thanks for tip Emma, and for the other lovely comments. I really love the FF so will put the hard yards in for the binding!
